Algonac State Park

8732 River Road
Marine City, MI 48039

810-765-5605

Algonac State Park's major attraction is viewing freighters of the world along the one half mile of St. Clair River frontage. Algonac is also home to rare habitats, the lake plain prairies and oak savannas that provide places to view prairie plants, wildlife and butterflies.

Activities:

Cross-Country Skiing: Trails are not groomed.

Fishing: The parks shoreline on the St. Clair River is well known for excellent walleye fishing. The Marine City and Algonac North Channel Boating Access Sites are close to the park.

Hiking:
Algonac's lakeplain prairies and lakeplain oak savannas are considered globally significant and contain 19 species on the state list of endangered, threatened and special concern list.

Barrier-free access is available to the Bridge-to-Bay trail, a paved trail that runs from the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron and into the city of Algonac. Approximately one mile of this trail intersects the park.

Hunting: During fall and winter seasons, the park is open to small and large game species.

Winter Camping: Semi-modern winter camping with electric service only and vault toilets. The parks sanitation station is open year round, water available in winter at the headquarters building.
