Alexandria

The Alexandria Heritage Trail, originally consisting of ten trail segments and eight off-trail detours, is a segment of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail. Additional areas and signage were added in Fort Ward Park and Potomac Yard in 2012. The trail is designed to give bikers and walkers a flavor of the rich and varied history of Alexandria, using designated street and off-street bike routes across the city. Much of the trail is car and wheelchair accessible.
