About Us:
We're normally asked two questions about the brewery, "Why are you opening in Avondale?" and "Why 8-Bit?"
Our owner and head brewer Ryan was born and raised in Avondale and noticed that there was a distinct lack of not just breweries, but craft beer options in general in the West Valley. When it came time to start looking at locations for the brewery, Ryan was curious about the Avondale Sports Center and asked someone at the city while paying his water bill. When he mentioned he was considering putting a brewery in the location he was quickly whisked away to a conference room and introduced to someone from the cities economic development. Much to his surprise the city had been looking for someone to open up a brewery in town. With Avondale being his home town, and really wanting a brewery, it just made sense to find an Avondale location.
The original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was considered an 8-Bit system. The graphics were very simplistic and composed of large blocks put together to create each game. Ryan's first game system was an NES that he got for Christmas, and even today he still has this same system hooked up to an old tube television.
When it came time to pick a brewery name, Ryan sorted through a dozen other names and themes and then realized that basing the entire brewery on 8-Bit video games and graphics fit his dream perfectly and was the prefect way to blend his love for beer and video games together.
