The ADU Advocacy September 2024

Support is needed now as City Council has the chance to legalize Additional Dwelling Units (ADUs) citywide on September 17 and 18. They must do so, without any exceptions or extra red tape, so that all Chicagoans can have more options for intergenerational housing and aging in place.
The ADU ordinance is currently scheduled to be in committee on September 17th and before full council on September 18th. The current proposed ordinance has extra steps required for people living in specific residential zones, and we need to assist the original clean citywide ordinance.
