Tell the Candidates What It's Like to Walk a Day "In My Shoes"

We’ve heard from thousands of people: Telling us about their day-to-day lives. Sharing about the stress they feel about the future. They are unable to save enough for retirement--or dipping into nest eggs just to pay for everyday expenses. Many New Jersey residents have had to pay thousands out of their own pockets to care for their loved ones while also juggling jobs, often without paid leave.

Voters 50+ have a lot on their plates--and are feeling invisible and ignored. Here in New Jersey, we know many older New Jersey residents are worried about rising costs for basic needs like food, gas and medication.

"I'm most concerned about saving Social Security and out of control medical costs. If you walked in my shoes, you would see how difficult it is to be a senior in America," said James from New Jersey.

"My day starts at 6:00 a.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. I spend most of the day busy with work trying to pay my bills. If you walked in my shoes, you would see people working way too hard to keep their heads about water,” said Nathan from New Jersey.

With just weeks left until the midterm election, it’s more urgent than ever for candidates to listen to this powerful constituency--to understand what it’s like to walk in their shoes--and focus on the issues that matter to them.

50+ voters here in New Jersey will decide this election and they're looking for candidates who will listen. Politicians ignore the at their own risk.
