Tax-Aide Volunteers Needed Across Vermont

Posted on 12/31/22 by The AARP Bulletin

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, which offers free virtual and in-person tax preparation assistance, is looking for volunteers for the upcoming tax season.

Last year, about 200 Tax-Aide volunteers helped more than 5,000 Vermont residents to file their taxes, with more than $5 million refunded to tax-payers. The service is available to anyone, with a special focus on those who are 50-plus and with low to moderate incomes. Volunteers work as tax preparers, client facilitators and interpreters, as well as in other positions.

Every level of experience is welcome, and IRS tax preparation training is provided. Volunteers are needed across Vermont but especially in Burke, Lyndonville, Hardwick, Greensboro, Craftsbury and St. Johnsbury.

To volunteer, contact Connie Philleo, Vermont’s Tax-Aide coordinator, at vtaarp@aarp.org or 802-866-9008.
