Staying Safe from Scams: Free Telephone Town Hall on September 4

Posted on 09/04/25

Scam Jam

Scammers are getting smarter—and more aggressive. But you don’t have to face them alone. Join us for a free telephone town hall on September 4, where experts will share practical tips and resources to help you protect yourself and your loved ones from fraud.

This special event features Liz Buser, Senior Advisor of Fraud Prevention at AARP, and Staff Sergeant Tara Hardin, TRIAD Coordinator for the state of Oklahoma. Together, they’ll discuss the latest scam trends, how to spot red flags, and what to do if you think you’ve been targeted.

You’ll also have the chance to ask questions live and hear from others in your community who are taking steps to stay safe.

What you will learn-

  • How scammers are targeting older adults and caregivers
  • What to do if you receive a suspicious call, email, or text
  • How to report fraud and get support
  • Free tools and resources from AARP and local law enforcement

Don’t miss this opportunity to get informed and empowered. Join the conversation here.
