Sista Strut Puts Focus on Breast Cancer’s Unequal Impact
Raising awareness about breast cancer’s impact on Black women is the goal of the 15th Annual Sista Strut Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and Parade on Saturday, Oct. 5, in downtown St. Louis.
Black women in the U.S. die of breast cancer at a higher rate than any other race or ethnic group, and they also have a higher chance of developing the disease before the age of 40 than white women, according to the American Cancer Society.
While at the event, visit with AARP St. Louis and take part in our special Voter Engagement Plinko game with prizes. So much fun and educational too!
Have questions about voting this fall? We’ll have voter information available to help with those answers.
