Senior Planet from AARP at the Mirowitz Center

The Mirowitz Center is partnering with Senior Planet from AARP to help older adults use technology to learn new skills, save money, get in shape, and make new friends. In fact, we are the only organization licensed to teach Senior Planet from AARP technology training curriculum in St. Louis County! In addition, the Mirowitz Center offers appointments every Monday for one-on-one, personalized assistance through our popular and free “Tech Tutor” program!

TIPS FOR DISASTER PREPARDNESS

Did you know technology is an essential part of being prepared for emergencies and natural disasters today? In this session, Mirowitz Center Trainer Larry Edison explains and demonstrates FEMA and Red Cross apps, including setting alerts. He’ll also review how to keep phones and other essential devices charged during a prolonged power outage. Plus, learn how built-in smartphone features can come in handy, and how to use social media to receive emergency information from local and national authorities.
