Renaissance Faire Great Opportunity to Share Resources
The Las Cruces AARP Chapter used the local Renaissance Faire as a final opportunity to share information on how and where to vote just before the November General Election.
During the “Faire”, held the first weekend in November, volunteers also shared information on caregiving, and Social Security.
“It is great to talk with our visitors and discuss AARP, chapter work, and encourage visitors to be sure and vote,” said Eileen Rosenblatt, a Chapter Board Member.
The Las Cruces Renaissance Faire made it’s 53rd appearance this year. This is the 11th year that the Chapter has had a booth at the event, sharing various resources and information that AARP has.
Attendees not only include people from the surrounding area but also from El Paso, Texas, and as far away as Arizona and Colorado. The event highlights handmade crafts, food trucks, and a beer garden. Visitors are entertained with music and jousting events.
In November, the Chapter also held a presentation on fall prevention as part of its regular meeting and will close out the year with a Christmas event. Plans are already being made for 2025 – including a theme for the year and related events.
