Join AARP on the scenic High Line Canal

A special event series will guide you through the High Line Canal this summer.

The entire community is invited to join AARP Colorado’s High Line Canal walking series this summer. Split into 15 different sessions, AARP Colorado will walk all 71 miles of the High Line Canal starting in April and finishing in September. Sign up for one session of the canal or join us for a true adventure by signing up for all 15.

AARP volunteers will lead each walk, providing support throughout the journey.

“AARP Colorado is dedicated to promoting healthy living and active lifestyles for people 50-plus,” Jessica Krough, director of outreach, said. “This walking series is a fantastic opportunity to stay fit, enjoy nature, and connect with others in your community.”

AARP membership is not required to participate, but AARP Colorado asks that participants register in advance for this free event series. Check back soon to register!

Most of the walks are point-to-point and will require carpooling. To hike the High Line Canal Trail in five-to-eight-mile sections, you’ll need to either park a car at both ends or arrange other transportation such as a Lyft. Public transit is not a consistent option; although there are some trailheads and trail ends that are on transit, but not all of them.
