How to Recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in Florida

Posted on 05/31/24

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, observed annually on June 15th, aims to raise awareness about the abuse and neglect that older adults face. This day serves as a global call to action to address the challenges and injustices that elderly individuals endure, ranging from physical harm to emotional and financial exploitation.

By spotlighting these issues, World Elder Abuse Awareness Day seeks to raise awareness of the cultural, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect, foster respect for elders, and encourage policies and programs that protect the rights and well-being of older persons.

Events are taking place throughout the state to recognize this important day. Take a look below to see which are happening near you!
