Help Advocate for Iowans 50-Plus

Posted on 11/30/22 by The AARP Bulletin

With Iowa’s state legislative session set to kick off on Monday, Jan. 9, AARP is inviting members to make their voices heard on issues that affect the quality of life for older adults.

After scoring a major legislative victory in 2022 with the enactment of a law that makes elder abuse a crime, AARP is turning its attention to other core issues. They include improving the state’s long-term care system, increasing financial security in retirement and lowering prescription drug costs. AARP needs advocacy volunteers to inform state lawmakers about these and other important issues.
