Get in the Swing: Join Monthly Jitterbug Classes

In the heat of summer, AARP Nevada is offering a way to escape the sun: learning the jitterbug.
Volunteers will lead jitterbug street swing classes from 1 to 4 p.m. on July 22 and Aug. 26 — both Saturdays — at The Ballroom of Reno, 2540 Sutro St., in Reno. (The lessons will continue on the fourth Saturday of the month throughout the year.)
Participants can come with a partner or they can pair up in class. Classes are free, but registration is required; see events.aarp.org/swingsatjuly for July 22 and events.aarp.org/swingsataug for Aug. 26.
Dancing can be a good way to stay in shape; it can also help relieve stress, build connections and stimulate the brain.
