Frequently Asked Questions:

How many boxes of materials can I bring to shred? Up to four large boxes is allowed per person.

Instead of boxes, can I bring my materials in plastic bags or other receptacles? Yes! Whatever you prefer to use to bring your materials to the event is fine. We will have volunteers on site to help you transfer your materials onto the shred truck.

Can I bring electronic materials such as computer hard drives? No, these events are for document shredding only. If you have credit card offers, or a few expired credit cards to shred, that is fine.

Do I need to remove staples and paper clips? No, you do not need to remove paper clips or staples.

Are my materials taken away to be shredded somewhere else? How do I know this is safe? All shredding takes place on-site. You can even watch as your materials are loaded onto the shred truck and shredded while you wait!

Is there a rain date? No. Our shred events take place rain or shine.

Why do I need to register? By registering, you are helping us know how many people to expect at our events which is helpful for planning and traffic flow. While we don't schedule specific attendance times, your willingness to register gives us a good idea of how many cars to expect.

Your patience is appreciated! Our free shredding events are popular and it is possible that you will need to wait as we work through the line and shred everyone's materials on a first come, first-served basis. We have volunteers on hand to check you in and help you get your materials into the bins and then loaded onto the truck. We will do our best to keep the line moving as quickly as possible.
