AARP members and their guests are welcome to enjoy an Exhibition Opening Celebration at the History Colorado Center August 22.

The new exhibition, De la Tierra:  Reflections of Place in the Upper Río Grande highlights multiple generations of families and communities with ties to early Hispano settlement who played a role in shaping the region’s cultural identity.

“AARP Colorado is excited to partner with History Colorado on this sneak-peak event,” Dr. Marissa Volpe, director of outreach, said. “This is an opportunity to breathe in and experience unique perspectives on one of our state’s most vibrant regions.”

The celebration runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and includes light refreshments and a special performance by Hilos Culturales.

The event is free to attend, but registration* is required. Space is limited.
