Cast Your Ballot for Kentucky Governor, Other Top Offices

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, Kentucky voters will cast their ballots for governor and lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general and other statewide offices.

AARP Kentucky is encouraging every voter to double-check their voter registration and precinct location, know who’s on the ballot and have a plan to get to the polls.

New state laws have made permanent some of the election procedures developed amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Kentuckians now have three days for early, in-person voting, and county clerks may offer ballot drop boxes.

However, mail-in absentee ballots are available only to voters who meet certain conditions, such as travel, age, disability or illness. The deadline to request a ballot is Tuesday, Oct. 24. You can do so at govote.ky.gov or by contacting your county clerk’s office.

Completed ballots can be mailed to the county clerk’s office or deposited in a secure drop box. Ballots must be received by the close of polls on Nov. 7.

Polls are open on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. Photo identification is generally required. Learn more at govote.ky.gov and at aarp.org/kyvotes.
