American Jazz Museum Third Thursdays Concerts, Free Museum Tours and Jazz at Noon

AARP in Kansas City is working with the American Jazz Museum to bring you information, resources, fun local experiences, and more!  And you can’t get more local than Kansas City jazz.  In 2024 we’re sponsoring a series of events and opportunities to celebrate this unique, local art form. We are proud to sponsor Third Thursday Concerts, and we have specially designed guided tours of the museum scheduled.

AARP in Kansas City is a sponsor of the American Jazz Museum’s Third Thursday concert on September 19th, 2024 beginning at 7:00 pm.  As an added bonus you can register for a free, docent led specialty tour of the museum before the concert. The tour begins at 6:00 pm and space is limited so register today!

Also happening at the American Jazz Museum you can hear free live Jazz at Noon performances. Jazz at Noon is the first and second Thursday of each month from noon to 1 PM. You do not need to register to attend Jazz at Noon.


AARP KC also has a discount for the American Jazz Museum if you’d like to learn more about the music that Kansas City helped shape and make famous! Kansas City has its own style of jazz and the American Jazz Museum keeps that tradition alive through live music and informative exhibits. You can get an AARP discount on admission to the American Jazz Museum only on the 2^nd Thursday of the month. To receive a museum ticket discount ($2 off regular adult admission, $1 off regular senior admission), go to the American Jazz Museum’s Swing Shop and request the AARP discount.
