The AARP Kansas Diversity Council invites you to participate in a workshop on ageism on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church, 9400 Pflumm Road, Lenexa, KS 66215. The workshop is free, but you must register HERE to attend.

The workshop will be facilitated by Maura Conry, lecturer and consultant in the study of ageism, and instructor Jennifer Lacy.

Participants will learn what ageism is, how people experience ageism and stereotypes and how to fight ageism. The workshop is designed to be interactive with a brief presentation and then discussion. Participants will be asked to share stories about experiences with ageism and how they were impacted.

Ageism is something that everyone who lives a certain length of time will encounter.
