The American Jazz Museum is proud to honor the legendary Charlie "Bird" Parker, a Kansas City native and one of the most influential figures in the history of jazz. American Jazz Museum Executive Director Dr. Dina Bennett will present a free Piano Side Chat on October 23rd that delves into Charlie Parker, as a saxophonist and composer who revolutionized the genre with his pioneering bebop style, which changed the landscape of modern jazz forever. A Q&A will follow Dr. Bennett's presentation.
AARP members and non-members are welcome to attend. Free soft drinks and cash bar. Please join us for this wonderful evening celebrating Charlie Parker and his place in jazz music history.

The American Jazz Museum is thrilled to announce the launch of the Miniature JazzBirds, exquisite miniatures inspired by Willie Cole's renowned ORNITHOLOGY installation at Kansas City’s newly renovated International Airport.
These beautifully crafted pieces celebrate the innovative and creative spirit of Kansas City, paying tribute to the city's rich musical heritage and its legendary native son, jazz legend Charlie Parker.
