AARP Indiana Connects with Community at Senior Information Fair

AARP Indiana was proud to stand front and center today as a Gold Sponsor of the Senior Information Fair (SIF) at Turnstone Center for Children & Adult with Disabilities in Fort Wayne. The event brought together older adults, families, and community partners for a day focused on local resources, connections, and opportunities — and AARP volunteers were there to lead the way.

As a Gold Sponsor, AARP Indiana was one of the first tables SIF visitors could check out. AARP Fort Wayne volunteers shared information about programs, advocacy efforts, and resources that support Hoosiers 50-plus in living life to the fullest. From fighting for important issues at the Statehouse to providing local opportunities for learning and engagement, AARP continues to be a trusted voice and a strong ally for older adults across Indiana.

“Being present at events like the Senior Information Fair shows how much AARP Indiana values connecting directly with the community,” said Fort Wayne Volunteer Team Lead Jeff Hale. “It’s about listening, sharing resources, and reminding people that AARP is here for them.”

By sponsoring and participating in the event, AARP Indiana underscored AARP's overarching mission of empowering people to choose how they live as they age — by remaining active, finding trustworthy resources, and engaging in meaningful advocacy.

The Senior Information Fair was a great reminder that older adults in Fort Wayne are not alone — AARP Indiana is working every day to provide support, amplify their voices, and strengthen the community.
