AARP's National Day of Service occurs on September 11. It is a day for AARP volunteers and staff to perform community service projects to improve the lives of others and to honor those killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

In Oklahoma, AARP volunteers can roll up their sleeves and participate in local community service projects in Tulsa to address food insecurity. Volunteers will have an opportunity to tour the Food on the Move campus, harvest produce and help prepare garden beds for fall planting. Food on the Move is on a mission to end food insecurity and works to mobilize healthy and quality food into hard-to-reach and economically challenged areas of the community.

What: AARP Oklahoma Day of Service

When: September 11 - 9 a.m. to noon (lunch will be served)

Location: Food on the Move - 3787 E. Apache St., Tulsa

Please note: We encourage you to bring friends, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED as we will need a headcount for t-shirts and lunches. If you don’t have an AARP shirt, one will be provided on-site. Questions? Please call Jenny Creech at 580-304-4087 or email her at jcreech@aarp.org.
