The Island of the Shark: Guardians of Malpelo

As a tourist with Blue Green Expeditions in 2021 aboard Colombia Dive Adventures MV Ferox with Captain Tony, filmmaker Annie Crawley fell in love with Malpelo. Introduced to Erika Lopez with a shared passion for protecting sharks and biodiversity hotspots, Annie was invited back to Malpelo aboard the Silky catamaran to film for more than three months under a permit with Biodiversity Conservation Colombia. The Island of the Shark, Guardians of Malpelo focuses on a small group of heroic people who have dedicated their lives to help protect sharks.
