CSO: Mozart’s Idomeneo with James Conlon at Martin Theatre The Chicago Symphony Orchestra delves into the operatic repertore as Mozart's Idomeneo is conducted by Los Angeles Opera (and former Ravinia) Music Director James Conlon. The work, set in Crete in 1200 BCE and telling the story of the Trojan War, shines light on a talented group of singers. Starring are tenor Matthew Polenzani as Greek king Idomeneo, soprano Andrea Carroll as princess Ilia, and soprano Alexandria Shiner as princess Elettra.
