About the Event
A Holiday Tradition:Benefitting the needs of our members
The Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada (DSOSN) is proud to announce its annual fundraising event, the Festival of Trees and Lights (FOTL) 2024. This year, the event will have a special meaning for us: We will be honoring Linda Smith, one of our founding members and a “Disability Rights Icon,” who has spent over 40 years of her life serving the disability community in Nevada and across the country. We are inviting everyone to join Governor Joe Lombardo and other leaders of the Las Vegas community, as we come together to celebrate Linda’s “Legacy of Love” for the disability community. Be there to applaud her as she is presented with the first of its kind, “The Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award.”
From Idea to Spectacular Reality: The Festival of Trees and Lights
The Festival of Trees and Lights is a long-standing and unique community celebration that was started by the founding members of the DSOSN in 1988. Over the years, the event has become increasingly popular and is now considered one of the most elegant gala events held in Las Vegas during the holiday season. This year, we invite you to be a part of this wonderful tradition, while celebrating Linda’s “Legacy of Love” for the disability communities of Southern Nevada.
Join us in this one-of-a-kind holiday season event, and help us to make it a most memorable experience for all, and an unforgettable tribute to Linda.
DSOSN Warms Your Heart: During the Holidays
This, the 36th anniversary of the FOTL gala, has been dedicated to the recognition of Linda Smith. The elegance of the black-tie event will symbolize the enormity of the moment and the significance of the recognition that will be bestowed on her. The opulence of the dinner menu will reflect her exquisite taste for fine cuisine, and the distinguish list of VIP guests will demonstrate her admiration and support from influential individuals across Southern Nevada’s business and philanthropic communities. Talented members of our Dance Troupe will perform as they have never done before, and Governor Joe Lombardo will present her with the one of a kind, “Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award.” This event will be a celebration that memorializes, like no other, Linda’s lifetime of achievements and love that she has given to the disability communities of Nevada and across the country. In short, this will be an event that you don’t want to miss.
We want to hear from you if you have an event to share or updates to this event.
