Join AARP Oklahoma and American Walks for a 2-day virtual workshop.
This event will equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to advocate for walkable, vibrant, safe, and accessible communities. Through a series of interactive sessions, you will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field, participate in discussions, and collaborate with fellow advocates dedicated to creating positive change in our neighborhoods.
Participants will learn how to implement the AARP Walk Audit Toolkit to facilitate successful walk audits and become confident in using the data to engage stakeholders and implement actionable change.
Through this workshop you will:
· Cultivate discernment of the idea that walking, rolling, and connection is essential to communities thriving.
· Learn how to use the AARP Walk Audit Toolkit and resources to gather data on walkability and engage community members in grassroots advocacy.
· Organize a local movement to create and advocate for walkable and livable communities, policy, and design.
