In honor of National Native American History Month, join Eastern Band of Cherokee oral historians to explore the values of Cherokee Society as reflected in traditional stories and everyday life. This series will share with the audience a way of life that has endured for thousands of years, ensuring survival and a quality life, even in divisive times.
In session three, we will explore these values:
- Strong Individual Character: Acting selflessly with integrity, honesty, perseverance, courage, respect, trust, honor, and humility.
- Sense of Place: Being good stewards of the land, connecting it to tribal identity.
- Honoring the Past: Learning from ancestors and elders, embracing tribal identity.
Join us to explore these values through oral history and storytelling.
