Learn how The Beatles revolutionized music, blending genres and pushing boundaries, changing how we experience sound and creativity.
About the Event
In the first class of this series, award-winning musician Barry Wiesenfeld will explore the backgrounds and contributions of The Beatles and their influence on later musicians and composers. A respected musicologist once referred to The Beatles as “one of the most transforming entities of 20th century music” and claimed that they changed the course of popular music forever. Can that be true? Were they really so much more than just four rock ’n roll “mop tops?" What is it that made them such a strong force that their music is still popular now, more than 50 years later?
In this class we’ll explore the phenomenon that was The Beatles. This includes their growth, originality, musical innovations, and lyric depth.
Through insightful discussion and musical performances, Wiesenfeld will demonstrate the importance music can have on keeping your brain healthy.
