Prevent Identity Theft at Free Shred-a-Thon in Rochester

Every day, millions of Americans lose their hard-earned money to identity theft and other types of scams. Last year alone, 16.7 million people from communities across the nation lost $17 billion to identity fraud alone. That’s one person victimized every two seconds!

Protecting your personal information can help reduce your risk of identity theft. One way to do this is to dispose of your personal information securely. That is why AARP New Hampshire and Granite State Credit Union have teamed up to offer a FREE shred-a-thon in Rochester on May 31 (9 am to 12 pm). To help with arrival and lines, please select your arrival time when registering.

Bring your documents for shredding – bank statements, cancelled checks, credit card junk mail, receipts with identifying information. Limit: 3 bags or boxes per vehicle. No magazines or newspapers will be accepted. Documents should be free of large binder clips and plastic; staples and paper clips don’t need to be removed. All papers will be shredded on-site in the mobile shredding truck.
