AARP Eye Center

Join our social gatherings known as ‘LGBT Quesdays’ to mingle and share with LGBTQ+ people and allies of all ages and backgrounds.
About the Event
In collaboration with The Generations Project, AARP Oregon presents a monthly virtual social gathering to connect people in the LGBTQ+ community and allies, using writing and discussion prompts. Topics vary from the light and humorous to the personal, allowing participants to find a subject they find easy to write or talk about.
This month :
In honor of National Poetry Month, LGBT Quesday is getting poetic! Our featuring guest speaker Roxanne Hoffman — a nonbinary lesbian poet and publisher with an extraordinary life story.
From navigating life on Wall Street while often being mistaken for a man, to founding a queer poetry press that uplifts marginalized voices, Roxanne brings humor, heart, and deep insight into identity and self-expression.
Whether you’ve never written a poem or you’ve got a chapbook in the works, this is your space to express, reflect, and celebrate community.
Between each writing period, the group engages in conversation guided by facilitators from the Generation Project, which cultivates intergenerational community across ages, classes and sexual and gender identities and preserves LGBTQ+ history through oral story sharing. No writing experience is necessary.
