The Postcard party is an opportunity to support the Vote NO on Initiative 2124 Campaign.
I-2124 hurts Washingtonians. At the postcard event, you will have messages you can write on postcards and AARP will mail those cards to our members encouraging them to vote NO on I-2124. WE have done 9,000 cards and have 1000 to go to meet our GOAL!
BALLOT INITIATIVE 2124 HURTS WORKING WASHINGTONIANS and is bad for our families
Ballot Initiative 2124 hurts Washingtonians and is bad for our families – especially family caregivers and the older parents, spouses, and other loved ones who count on their care.
Specifically, Ballot Initiative 2124 would:
- Leave working families at financial risk in times of serious long-term illness, injury, or disability.
- Hurt working women – the family caregivers – who often leave their jobs or scale back their hours to care for older parents, spouses, adult children with disabilities, and other loved ones.
- Eliminate critical support for family caregivers, including the ability to help offset lost income while they are providing care.
- Eliminate resources that could provide family caregivers with some help, like homecare aides, home safety modifications, meal delivery, transportation, assistive technology and more.
