Join the inaugural 1st Stage Salon examining how trust functions in Black communities and how modern scams exploit those networks through cultural dialogue.
The Grand Opening Salon Talk launches the 1st Stage Salon, a year-round platform for cultural dialogue and reflection. The opening program, Protecting Our People, examines fraud awareness through a cultural and historical lens, with a focus on how trust has traditionally functioned within Black communities and how modern scams exploit those same networks. The conversation moves beyond shame or blame to explore fraud as a relational issue rooted in human behavior, storytelling, and the gradual breakdown of trust, with the goal of fostering understanding and awareness.
