Take a Summer Guided Nature Walk in Concord
In June our natural world is brimming with beautiful colors, enchanting noises and entertaining movement as many plants and animals are at the peak of activity with warmer days. And it is a great time to explore healthy living!
Join Concord NH Parks and Recreation on June 19 (10-11 am) for a FREE presentation and guided walk on opportunities for healthy living and safe exercise in NH though making connections with nature. AARP NH volunteers will be on hand with information about healthy living resources and upcoming related events.
►The walk begins at Lehtinen Park. From Runnells Road in Concord, continue on Horse Hill Road for about a mile. At the top of a small hill is a sharp turn. The Lehtinen monument is on the left. Park in the small area near the monument.
Some of the trails in this network follow along the Contoocook River. The trails pass near areas where the Contoocook River floods during the spring. Parts of the trail follow an old railroad. This area is full of wildlife; bears have been frequently seen in this area. The surface is packed dirt, and grass/meadow. Dogs are permitted on leashes.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
