About the Event

Americans lost more than $1.1 billion in 2023 due to relationship or romance scams, according to the Federal Trade Commission. Many of the people tricked out of their money were also victims of cryptocurrency scams, an increasingly popular way for scammers to collect.

This webinar will explore the latest trends as well as scam-prevention tips and tools to help you identify and avoid romance and crypto scams. Speakers include Bill Hamilton, an AARP Fraud Team volunteer who will discuss relationship scams, and Madalyn Stoner from the Oregon Division of Financial Regulation, who will cover cryptocurrency scams.
