“Fraud Fighting Fridays” Free Shred Event
Rhode Island consumers reported more than 2,357 incidents of identity theft in 2023, according to data from the Federal Trade Commission. Shredding old documents with sensitive personal information, such as a Social Security number, is a good way to guard against such crimes.
AARP Rhode Island is pleased to host a series of free shredding events, “Fraud Fighting Fridays,” to help you guard against fraud and identify theft. A maximum of two boxes per person is required – no businesses please.
