Your caregiving journey can be challenging in all kinds of ways. It can disrupt your daily routine, work, and personal life. It can impact your income and life savings. It can lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness.
At AARP, we’re here to support you. We can help you get answers, connect with other family caregivers and find resources close to home to help you on your caregiving journey. That’s why we’re inviting you to a special Saturday morning conference and resource fair for family caregivers.
Morning refreshments and a complimentary lunch will be served.
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. to allow time to visit our caregiver's resource fair. Program begins at 9 a.m.
This event is free and open to all. Registration is required.
The goal of this conference and resource fair is to help you prepare for your caregiving journey. In addition to hearing from keynote speaker, Amy Goyer, participants have an opportunity to connect with others, find local resources and attend workshops:
Building Financial Confidence and Retirement Security for Caregivers of All Ages: Managing financial matters and the accompanying paperwork as a caregiver can be especially difficult. The goal of this session is to provide participants with information and resources they can use to work toward their own financial security and the financial security of the person they are caring for.
Understanding Care Options and Costs: Explore different care options—home care, assisted living, nursing homes—and their associated costs. Get practical tips on making informed decisions.
Growing Older in Your Home: Learn about home modifications and smart technologies that enhance accessibility and safety. From grab bars to smart home devices, find solutions to comfortably age in place.
Navigating Solo Aging: Understand the unique challenges faced by those aging alone. Discuss social connections, community resources and strategies for maintaining independence.
Keynote speaker: Amy Goyer, author of Juggling Life, Work and Caregiving, is an expert in aging and families, specializing in family caregiving. She is a consultant, speaker and writer and serves as AARP's family and caregiving expert.
