Celebrate Día de los Muertos with AARP San Antonio at three free events featuring sugar skull decorating, altar-making, and a live dance and mariachi performance.
AARP San Antonio and the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center invite you to a meaningful, hands-on workshop celebrating Día de los Muertos. In this hour-long session, participants will learn how to create a traditional altar (ofrenda), including the cultural significance of each element placed on it. Attendees are encouraged to bring a photo of a loved one to contribute to a Community Altar. As part of the experience, participants will also decorate a photo frame to take home. This is the second event in a three-part Día de los Muertos series hosted by AARP and the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. The workshop will take place in person at the Latino Bookstore, and space is limited—register early to secure your spot.
