By making changes to their living space that help prevent confusion, people living with dementia can often remain in their homes.
About the Event
We know your caregiving journey can be challenging in all kinds of ways. That’s why AARP Virginia and Insight Memory Care Center are delighted to invite you to our monthly Care Partner Class.
For a person coping with dementia, living at home can provide a sense of independence. By making some changes to your home to minimize the chances of confusion and improve safety, such as adding better lighting and simple flooring, you can often continue to age in place with dementia and maintain the routines and activities you enjoy.
Find out what you can do to create a more dementia-friendly home. The presenter is Lisa Bagby, an occupational therapist, educator, health administrator and advocate who has a passion for helping people age in place.
This class, which is not an AARP event, will be held in person in Fairfax, Virginia, as well as online for virtual viewers. Those attending virtually will be able to ask questions via the chat feature.
