Join our Changemaker Launchpad event in December
AARP Maine, with support from the Aroostook Agency on Aging and the UMaine Center on Aging, is hosting the first-ever Changemaker Academy for Age-Friendly Community Leaders and representatives from partner organizations. The purpose of the training is to The Changemaker Launchpad is a two-day, hands-on “train-the-trainer” event designed to prepare community leaders, citizen advocates, and partner organizations to replicate the Civic Academy model in their own regions. This statewide gathering builds a network of skilled facilitators who can spark civic engagement and advocacy for aging and community well-being across Maine.
Goals of the training include -
- Replicate the Model: Equip participants with the tools and confidence to launch local civic academies
- Build Capacity: Strengthen Maine’s network of community advocates, particularly those from Maine’s Age-Friendly Communities, who understand how to engage with municipal, county, state, and federal systems.
- Foster Connection: Create a statewide community of changemakers committed to civility, collaboration, and citizen leadership.
